Lake Juliette is our local open water certification dive location. We can do a multitude of open water certification dives here. Lake Juliette is a Georgia Power lake. The lake is 3,600-acres and is maintained in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Lake Juliette offers a day-use area for boat launching, picnicking and swimming. Lake Juliette is strictly a fishing lake. Boats with engines greater than 25 horsepower are prohibited, as are water skiing, aquaplaning, and jet skis making it a very safe place for your training. We use the Dames Ferry Recreational Area for our training. There is paved parking, multiple entry sites into the water, and restroom facilities on site. There is also a campground at Dames Ferry and offers 37 campsites for RV and tent camping, so, if you want to make your training a weekend retreat it is possible. For those of you that don't wish to stay the night Lake Juliette is only a short drive (1 Hour) from Covington. The area we train in has an average depth of 20-25 feet with a sandy bottom and visibility in the lake during the summer averages about 5-8 feet. There is not anything to see at the lake other than a passing fish every ounce in a while. This is a lake that just offers a convenient local option for us to do training. Before choosing this option, please be sure that you will be comfortable diving in a low viability environment.
